Layout Challenge from Facebook...

Ok...this layout was made just for a challenge with a group I am in on Facebook. I typically do not scrap much for myself, so this was fun. The challenge was to scrap a 'thing'. I went through several things...

pictures of the house decorated for Christmas...All through the house

my stuffed penguin collection...Chilly Friends

But, then I got it...purses! My new thing & I had just received three new ones in the past couple of months, so...here it is...my Purse-nal Favs!

How time flies....

when you are busy! It has been over 10 days since I have been on here and I have to much to share...cards, layouts, etc. I will have to post the pics tomorrow though...need batteries.

We had a wonderful weekend...lots of shopping. I am not sure why, just ended up that way. I am not complaining...who doesn't like to shop??? And I got a new purse...one I have been eyeing for a few months, but didn't want to spend it. Hubby actually got it for me, said he knew I must want it since I have had to 'visit' it every time we have been in the exchange. Good Boy:) Isn't it pretty?

Got quite a few things for the house...things that will help complete that 'to do' list that has been hanging around. Now to just do them.

I have a class tomorrow night...calendar club...really must finish getting ready for it.

Snowing....again!

Ok, so the previous snow has not even finished melting and here it comes again. Good news is that I finished my cards for swap (will post pic later), bad news is that it is not looking too good for school tomorrow. Ohhhhh... after last week I was really looking forward to them going back. Recap: Last week they were on for two days, had two snow days and then off Friday & today for Presidents' day! I am not going to compain...my friends in MD have had it much worse...I am not even sure how many days they have been out. Oh, well...at least I have lots of firewood, hot chocolate mix & marshmallows:)

On another note...Valentines' day was nice...and quiet. We celelbrated early because Joh was supposed to be flying out again. We just did dinner out and then gifts. John got me a cute stuffed animal, pretty pink Coach purse, and a beautiful purple paisley-ish ring. I got John a coffee maker he has been wanting. Jarek made us a cute card and helped me make breakfast with our new waffle iron. All in all it was a nice day.
I am hoping to play with my new Cricut Expression tonight...I have had it a week and not even used it yet...I have a layout I want to do and I will need the bigger machine...after dinner...which I need to go make before they start gripping for it.

Cards...

OK, I joined a new group & this is the first swap...you had to make two cards: one featuring the KISS technique & one featuring vellum or acetate as the focal point. So, after much trial & error, here is what I came up with...

< This is the KISS technique...after I "kissed' the butterfly stamp to the background stamp, I tore the edges & inked them. I then sprayed the entire element with Smooch Spritz in gold...it made it very shimmery.

>This is the vellum focus one...the butterfly is made of vellum. I cut two butterflies...one out of mint green & one out of vellum. I then dry embossed the vellum butterfly & sprayed it with the Smooch Spritz in gold. Once dry I layered the two butterflies and added jewels and wire antennae. I really like this border punch...and I think it went perfectlywith the papers.
Now to get them in the mail. I can't wait to see what I get back! It is always fun to get your swap cards and see what others do with the same themes.
Now to make a set of ten cards for another swap I am in:)

Layouts...

Now that my space is all clean, I am feeling much more productive. These are some of the layouts I did last night...

This one is for my girlfriend, Brandi...it is her daughter. I just have to add the pics to the second page.

This one is for the store...I kept it simple so it is easy to copy.

These two are for the store, but I intend on keeping them...I already have pictures picked out for them!

I knew there was something under all that stuff!

Yesterday, instead of creating cards & layouts...I ended up cleaning up my scraproom. It was long overdue! I am happy to report that I managed to find the tops of all four of my tables & I am now ready to create. I have several projects that I plan to work on later today...& tomorrow...we are supposed to get some snow tonight.
While I was cleaning, my son was creating. This is his version of a snowman...he had to be different.

Snow Day!

This is what we woke up to this morning. Beautiful. the dogs have already been for a romp in the back yard...they just love the snow. I have cleared the driveway...I just love using the snow thrower:) Now time to just enjoy this day. I think I will try to work on some layouts and cards for an upcoming swap.

Layouts...more layouts!

I managed to get several layouts done for the store today. My other designers have been busy too. We are going to have so many great layouts to display once the new product starts arriving:)

What a Monday...

I always find it hard to get motivated on a Monday that follows an espeically lazy Sunday. I feel like we did nothing all weeked except eat & watch TV...although I did get some crafting done. I managed to do several layouts for displays in the store and start sketching out cards for two swaps I am in. Today I am going to make the two cards and finish up a few more displays for the store. This next month should be very exciting...all the new scrapbooking things will start arriving in the store. We have ordered a lot of fun things & I can't wait to see them in person. I am off to work on my things & will post pics later. Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!
