This little bird is just the cutest! I loved coloring him. This is an odd color combo for me, blue and purple, but I think the printed paper brought it all together. I also did some sewing to add a little texture to the layers.

Sentiment - came with digi stamp

Just Swingin' Card
This is the sketch I gave my FB group this month. It is from: Stamping Queen Sketch
This is what I did with it...
The digi is from Pixie Dust Studio .
I colored him with my pencils and cut/embossed image with a Spellbinders. I used scraps of paper for the background. I inked all edges. I just used a circle punch to make the cherries in the corner; and I free handed the leaves. Again, I inked edges. I pop dotted the cherries and the digi. All done!

Love is in the Air ATC
The theme for the January ATC swap was "Love is in the Air". I decided that for this swap I could not buy anything, I must use things I had on hand...I have SOOO MUCH! After gathering everything I could find that was appropriate to theme I went to work...
This is a rather simple card, but I really like it. I used a purple glitter paper for the base. I then took a piece of handmade paper and tore it into a cloud shape. To make it more interesting I used metallic rubs all over in pink, purple, blue, & silver with blue inked edges. I then pop dotted the winged heart embellishment on.
Now on to a challenge card....
My take on the sketch...I used a digi that I found for free on the Operation Write Home site (http://operationwritehome.org/digis.html). The little puppy was just so cute and had the saddest eyes that I knew it had to be for a belated birthday card, so...I printed the sentiment on the computer. After coloring the image I added Crystal Effects to his eyes & nose, "fussy cut'' the image, and adhered it with pop dots to the white circle. The papers are scraps of Basic Grey from my scrap box. To add a little depth I embosses the striped & white papers. I inked all edges. I just love him!

So many projects....
so little time! There are so many projects that I would like to do that I hae decided to make a list and prioritize. The first is to get my personal scrapbooks caught up, so....I have organized all my photos, made a list of all the things that should be scrapped for the past 5 years and cross referencing it with the pages I have actually done. this will leave me a list of what i need to do...I am working year-by-year so, I am should have 2011 completely caught up by then end of next week...jsut a few more layouts to do. I am also doing more hybrid layouts to help 'get it done". Here are two I just completed:
I have also been trying to make use of the many already made pages I have...I have a stack of about 50 layouts that I made when I worked at the scrapbook store that just need pictures...here is one of them...Yeah!
I also managed to squeeze in a quick trip to my girlfriend's since the beginnign fo the year. We scrapped the entire weekend....I needed it! I completed a mini album for my Dfor our 20th anniversary, colored a lot of digi images for future projects, made a set of cards for a swap, and did a layout for her daughter's prom. Very productive weekend...really need one of those a month!

Cards!

I made this card for one of my fellow divas. She has been asking for one of my book cards, so...here it is :) I knew I had to use black, it is her favorite color, but I had to lighten it up to go with the verse so I added white, pink and green. I used a Spellbinder to cut the book and pages. All papers are from my scrap basket...Raven card stock, glossy black card stock, hand made paper...I added charms, paper flowers, rhinestone brads, ribbon, glitter stickers and sequin butterflies. I think it turned out pretty.
This card is for another fellow Diva...for our birthday swap. Again I used scraps of card stock and Basic Grey patterned paper. The image is a digi stamp from Fred She Said. I colored it with Stampin'Up pencils and blended with Gamsol. I then cut the images out and covered with Glossy Accents. I used Dew Drops for the pearl like accents on the scalloped circle. When I put it all together I used pop dots on the cut outs for added dimension. I think she is going to like it!

Trying out digi stamps

I have been purchasing & downloading digi stamps for awhile, but haven't used them yet. This card I finally used one...the hummingbird and flowers are a digi from Fred She Said ( http://fred-she-said.blogspot.com/ ) You can buy them colored or uncolored...this one was uncolored. I colored with colored pencils then covered with a blend of rock candy crackle paint and Smooch inks...it gives the images a very dimensional effect. The card is a tent card. I added the lattice to the window for more interest. I like how this came out...and I will definitely start using my digi stamps...not only are the easier to store, but they are also less expensive.
