Simply Betty Holiday Cards

In between all the holiday craziness I have found a little time to work on some cards.

First my card for the Simply Betty December Facebook Page Fan Challenge. We had three choice for images, all that were adorable, but I chose Jolly Corinne.  for the Corinne image we had to add holly.

All papers were from my scrap basket.  I cut the holly from the December 25th Cricut cartridge.  I cut the red circle form the CTMH Art Philosphy Cricut cartridge.  I used a scalloped edge punch, added some red rhinestones, black ribbon and a little Crystal Effects to her boots.  Smokin'!

Next, I made this one...another Simply Betty image, Candy Cane Betty.

Again, all papers were from my scrap basket.  The flourishes were a trade with a friend, believe they are a Memory Box die.  I added a black bow, Jolee's poinsettia sticker, red and green rhinestones.

Thank for looking!  Hope your Christmas Eve is not too crazy!

Holiday Happenings & a Card

So this has been a busy few days for us.  Last Thursday, DH surprised us with tickets to ICE!  It is a walk through display  on theme completely made from ice.  They bring in ice sculptors from around the world to create the entire display.  When you go in they give you an overcoat to put on over your coat as the temperature inside it between 6 and 9 degrees.  BRRRR!  In this pictures the background is completely sculptured from ice.  There is also an ice slide...fun :)

Yesterday we had our annual holiday open house...40+ people.  No gingerbread house building this year, but still a fun night for all.  I think a chocolate fountain is always a hit with the kids;)

Today I have a few presents to finish up, wrapping to do, and a little bit more cleaning up from yesterday; but before I go I want to share a card...

I love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil Too.  As I started creating the card a song came to mind and had me giggling the whole time I was creating....Can you guess what song?  I will tell you at the end :)

Here's the Details:
Image - Little Elf Fin for Mo's Digital Pencil; colored with Prisma pencils and accented with Polar White Flower soft on his fur bits, gold and holly red Stickles
Sentiment -   CTMH Special Occasion mini stamps
Papers -   Red & green glitter from my scrap basket, Reminisce Christmas Stripe
Extras - square crystal rhinestones, silver trimmed ribbon, scalloped edge punch, tag cut from CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Now...the song....Wrecking Ball by Miley.  So, he is my Christmas wrecking ball.

Thanks for looking!  Take time to slow down and enjoy a little!

TAGS!

Quick share...these were for a recent swap.  I used my Close to my Heart, Art Philosophy cartridge for all the cuts.  I have to say, I am LOVING that cartridge!  I raided my scrap basket for all the papers and ribbons.  The penguin is a little shaker sticker.  These were so fun and easy to do!

Happy Crafting!

Subway Art Christmas Card

This is my card for a recent swap.  I was not feeling very creative so I went to Pinterest to find some motivation.  I really liked the look of the subway art.  I decided to go with it!

Here's the details:
Art:  Christmas subway art
Papers:  black card stock, printed from my scrap basket
Extras:  Lipstick Cats Eye chalk ink, Jolee's poinsettia stickers

Just a note...the original piece of art I printed has a date on it, hence the strategically placed poinsettia.  The link I have above is for a piece exactly the same EXCEPT no date, the work "hope" instead.  :)

Make it a crafty day!

Catching up: 16...where did the time go???

I have been so caught up in the holidays, dental appointments, helping DS with school that I have not blogged in awhile.  So, to catch you up...

Earlier this month, my baby turned 16!?!  How crazy....it has definitely gone by too quickly!  I am proud of the independent, caring and strong young man he is.   He didn't want a party for his birthday, just a small family celebration and then a few friends over.  For the family celebration I made him a chocolate cake with peanut butter cream frosting.  That butter cream was soooo yummmy!  He loved it.

I decided to make him a silly card...
I used a sticker I have had for quite some time, Animal from the Muppets.  I wanted to frame him, but not anything conventional so....I cut a circle out and then rolled back the edges to form an opening in the paper for him to be coming through.  I like the effect.  Silly, but simple card.

I hope that you are having a wonderful day!
