"Butterflies hover and feathers appear,
Whenever lost loved ones are near."
So, I have been away a little while...after reading this post you will understand...
On August 23rd, my best friend lost her husband. He had been fighting cancer...he left behind three children. I have known Teri, David and their children for 13+ years. It all started with a MOMS club in Texas and a common background. Once we started talking we realized that we both grew up in the same area of Virginia Beach and had boys the same age. From there our friendship grew...Pizza Fridays, playing in the pool, David taking the boys fishing, etc. Our friendship has lasted because we have worked at it, keeping in touch through numerous moves, family issues, work issues and just life getting in the way. We haven't been able to see each other as often as we would like but we do the best we can. My heart is aching for her and the children.
I wanted to do something special for the kids...so I made these cards...
They are easel cards with a quote I love and a special picture of them with their dad. Of course, each card had to have a butterfly...even Ethan's. I included a special note from DH and I as well. I thought these would be something they could display in their room...when they are ready.
Here is the card I made for my BFF...it is a lift from Pinterest.
The bird is punched from Stampin' Up and the butterfly is a cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. I printed the quote on my computer. I love the all white instead of black for sympathy.
I know that this loss has rocked their worlds, I just pray that all the wonderful memories they have of their husband/father will comfort them and give them strength.
Thanks for looking.
Marie

So thoughtful of you to think about what the kids are going through. I think, sometimes, they get lost in the sadness of the moment as everyone seeks to comfort the surviving spouse in situations like this.
They will most certainly treasure these small memories. TFS
