Serenity Prayer Card

Quick share...I made this card for a friend who is facing some challenges.
This was a little out of my box...but I do like it...only thing is that the verse did not end up centered on the cut and that is because half way into the project I changed my layout :(

Here's the Details:

Papers:  all from my scrap basket
Sentiment:  printed on computer
Extras:  MB dies, crocheted butterfly, brads, and paper flowers by K & Company (come in a pad of various colors and sizes...just punch out), moss Cats Eye chalk ink, lace and ribbon.

Now to get it into the mail :)  Thanks for looking!

In the Manger Card

The theme for the month on Paper Crafting Divas is "Christmas in July", so with Christmas on the brain I decided to color this image.  Isn't it adorable?  It is "In the Manger" by Mo Manning.

Here are the details:

Papers:  all from my scrap basket; yellow is an embossed piece I received in a swap - I believe it is embossed with a Tim Holtz folder

Extras:  rafia, buttons, glitter stars cut on the Cricut with my new cartridge, Art Philosophy from Close to My Heart.

I have a few more holiday projects that I will be sharing throughout July.  Hope you are having a wonderful day!  Thanks for looking.

Birthday Cupcake Cardsketch

Just a quick share as I am trying to get as many projects done today as I can.....

First project:  create a card using this sketch from Paper Crafting Divas:

Sketch from:  http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/

This is the card I created:

The ribbon was the inspiration for the color palette...it has been in my stash for quite some time and just needed to be used.  The pink and white embossed papers are from a PCD swap and the blue leftovers from the layout I just finished.  I used a punch for the cupcake and added a little glittery flower sticker.  You knew I would get that glitter in somewhere!

Ok, more creating on the way!  Hope you are having a WONDERFULLY crafty Saturday!  Thanks for looking!

Priceless Layout

Finally, the "page three" of Spring Fling layout I shared with you in May.  This is a special page I wanted to do for my girlfriend's daughter.  I knew when I saw they picture of her and her daddy that, with everything they are going through, I had to do this layout.  I think it will be very special for her.

I used the following (all from Michael's):

teal ribbon glitter ribbon
Jolee's boutique satin flowers
Martha Stewart rhinestone stickers
Jolee's Bling dimensional stickers
AC Thickers in Silver Glitter
Scrappy Cat Glitter Glue in blue rainbow
AC Silver Glitter Card stock
TPC Aqua Mulberry
Recollections Rhinestone corners and individual rhinestones
black card stock
vellum

I also did one of my favorite techniques, layering the vellum over the photo with a cutout to accentuate the people.

Thanks for stopping and looking!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Summer Card

I have spent the entire day, off and on, working on this card.  This is Summer by Simply Betty and she was given to anyone who wanted to participate in the Simply Betty Fan Page Challenge  on FB.  The challenge was to use the image AND create a background for her.  Well, that is where the challenge part came in for me.  A lot of people were using clouds, so...no clouds for me.  Rainbow?  Nope, already done.  You are not going to believe where my inspiration came from...the radio.  I heard "....dancing in the moonlight..." as I walked down to my craft room and that was it.  So, my summer fairy is dancing with the stars under the summer moon. :)

Here's the details:
Image:  Summer by Simply B Stamps; I colored her with pencils and added stickles in diamond and purple to her wings.

Papers:  black card stock and glossy paper; for the "night" background - I used a piece of glossy background and Memento inks in nautical blue and teal zeal.  I tapped the inks directly onto the paper.  Then I sprayed with a little water and tapped again, blended with a dabber.  I also use a scrap of green handmade mulberry for the 'grass'.  A piece of champagne glitter was used for the large star.

Extras:  For the moon I used a dabber to tap on Memento inks in galaxy gold and moonlight white.  Once the inks were dried, I applied Perfect Pearls in pearl over the top.  It is hard to see in the pictures, but it gives the moon a wonderful, shimmery look.  I also used crystal star rhinestones, white glitter star buttons, and glittered flower stickers.

Once I found my  inspiration, I so enjoyed making this card....fun image to color and lots of my favorite embellishments...glittery stuff!

Thanks for stopping and looking!

Orange Creamsicle Cake & some weekend fun

1 - ingredients, 2 - Orange Creamsicle cake and mini strawberry cheesecake
mason jar desserts, 3 - YUMMY cake!, 4 - the men - Kevin (BIL), Marvin
(nephew), Dad, Jarek (DS), and behind Jarek, John (DH)

Had a great weekend with family...parents came over Friday and stayed until Monday;  sister and her family came over Sunday for a cook out.  We did a belated Fathers' Day celebration with our dad on Sunday.  When I was deciding on what to make for dessert, I knew this cake would be perfect.  Orange Creamsicle cake.  I did change it up a little...I did not make cupcakes or use her icing recipe.  Due to time limitations I decided to make a cake and I used store bought frosting.  I picked up one of the new stir in frosting in orange creme flavor...it was good, but pretty sweet.  So....to help cut the sweetness I did not frost the middle of the cake, but used orange marmalade instead.  It was YUMMY!  I also made strawberry cheesecake in little mason jars.  We had a nice dinner, visiting time, and yummy desserts.

Now to get my craft on...I need to make cards, do a challenge, finish up some swaps....feels like a Monday :)  Hope you are having a WONDERFUL day!  Thanks for stopping by.
