Best Witches Halloween Cards

Just a quick share...I made these cards for a swap.  I love when I can use things I have to create something cute.  The witch stikers were an after Halloween purchase several years ago and they were perfect for this swap.  The theme was a color combo for Halloween, you had to use purple, orange, and green.  The chevron paper was in my scrap basket and had all the colors.  I printed the sentiment on the computer.  I inked all edges.  Love 'em...cute and simple!  Marie

Something Wicked Pocket letter

Pocket letters, have you tried them yet?  They are becoming one of my favorite swaps.  I really enjoy finding things to fill each little pocket.  Sometimes I use things from my own stash, sometimes I make an element, and, then, sometimes I shop.  This one the theme was "Something Wicked This Way Comes".  I have a huge stash of Halloween so it was rather easy to fill.  You can find more info on Pocket Letters HERE and HERE

Have you participated in a pocket letter swap?  If so, do you save your letter as is or use the items?

My First Pocket Letter Swap

My newest swap with my FB group was one of the new things, pocket letters.  OK, I have to start by saying how incredibly fun this swap was!  It was so stress free.  I mean, sometimes when I join a swap I feel stressed to outdo others...my type A personality I guess.  This was so not like that.  So, check it out....

First we started with a page map...this really took a lot of the struggle of what to put out of the swap.

Next, I added paper squares to each pocket so my "letter" would look pretty from both sides.  I used a summer print from BoBunny...perfect for the theme of Summer Fun.

Now, all the fun stuff....stickers, tags, rhinestones, flowers, a handmade quote tag, and my letter.  I do have to point out that quote tag....I love it and had a really hard time including it!  I found a free clip art frame, added my sentiment and then printed out.  I printed an extra frame to add dimension to parts of the card.  I then added pearls, stickles and glitter pen to make it really stand out.

My finished product.  Best thing, when folded up it fits in a regular legal size envelope!

I hope my partner likes her pocket letter as much as I liked putting it together!

Have you tried the latest thing, pocket letters?

Olive You!

Quick share...this is a card I created for a swap.  We had to make a Peek-a-boo card with a Valentine theme. I only have 2 Valentine stamp sets, so...with those I out I started looking through my supplies.  While trying to come up with something, I came across the heart cuts...not sure what they were from, but they were already cut and ready to go.  The pink and green color scheme was perfect for the olive stamp, so...now to just put it all together.  Love when things fall in place like that.  I added some Diamond Stickles to the cut for a little sparkle.  Done!  Not bad for a scrappy card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Pinwheels

I am really having fun with these pinwheel cards!  They are so cute and a great way to use up scraps. It is becoming my go to technique.  These two were made for a swap.  The papers were from stack packs from Wal-mart that have been in my stash forever!   The centers of each card were embellishments left over from other projects. The bottom is a shaker with a snowman and the top is a layered flower, snowflake, and button with ribbon.  I used my new favorite tool, envelope punch board, to make matching envelopes.

What is your go to technique?

Happy Altered Altoid Tin

So this was for a swap.  I have never done an altered Altoid tin, so...I had no plan when I sat down.  The theme was "Flights of Fantasy".  While the end result doesn't have a lot of 'fantasy' going on, it has 'flight' covered.

I dumped out my embellishment jar and pulled things I liked...the butterfly, "happy" tile, and the quote on the inside. I then pulled some scrap papers.  I decided it needed an accent color so I used purple, favorite of the recipient.  I had this window tin in my stash and decided to use it instead of the used Altoid tin I had originally planned on.  I liked the idea of the window.  Then I got my glue and went to work.  I love when there is no plan...just free creating.  I am happy with the end result.  What do you think?

Happy Monday!

ATC: It's a Girl Thing

Quick share...this is the ATC I did for a recent swap on Paper Crafting Divas.  The theme was, "It's a Girl Thing".  Cinderella came to mind...finding a prince, so I went with it.  I cut the shoe from 'Graphically Speaking' Cricut cartridge.  The background is handmade paper with touches of metallic inks and a glitter punched border.  I attached the crown with a rhinestone brad.  Not quite how I envisioned it, but....

Thanks for stopping by!

Here are the details:
Papers -  textured green velvet for the background, torn white mulberry and printed vellum.
Cut - deer from Cindy Loo cartridge
Extras - silver Flower Soft corners, small red pearl

Thanks for stopping!  Hope you are having a wonderfully, crafty week!

ATC: Wild Thing!

This month's ATC Swap theme on Paper Crafting Divas was:  Wild Things...however that inspires you.  So....I instantly thought of the song, "wild thing, you make my heart sing..."  Here is what I came up with...

I used some scraps of zebra print for the background.  I then added a border of black fibers.  I freehand cut a heart out of super glittery paper and added a rhinestone studded music note to it.  After adding the heart to the card, I added a few more music notes all around.

Hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.  Remember to take a minute to reflect on the true intention of the holiday.  Enjoy!

Summer Fun Card

Just a quick post to share my PCD Swap card....

The theme was Animals on Parade, so you know I am going to do a penguin if I can.

I used dies I purchased from Archivers to cut the penguin and his swim accessories.  I just used my scrap bin for all the papers.  The background is some more paper scraps, shimmery Reminisce scraps.  And the base card is from a pack of pre-cut cards with envelopes I found at Target in their Dollar Spot.

So, it is the start of Memorial Day weekend...I am hoping to craft a little, but DS is in a baseball tournament, so....we will just have to see.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for looking!

I was SWAPPED this weekend!

In between cleaning house, walking beasties, mulching the yard and shopping I managed to work on several swaps.

This one is for our monthly card challenge on Paper Crafting Divas. We did things a little differently this time...instead of a theme, you had to use the sketch. Here is my take on the sketch...the background is an older Heidi Grace paper. The image and sentiment are clip art from the computer...for the haunted house, I colored the windows with a Zig yellow marker and inked the entire sky with a plum Chalk Cat's Eye. Then, to give it more dimension, I covered the entire image with painted on crystal effects. The other circles are from a stack, they are metallic. I really like this card and had fun with the sketch. I am going to have to do a second set of cards to help a member out and I already have a fun idea for it...going to change up the circle...will post when completed!

Here are all the swaps I completed (from top left, clockwise): Recipe cards, Birthday Swap, Monthly card Swap, and Page Elements Swap.

It was a very productive weekend ;)

Under the Sea ATC's

The theme for the ATC Swap this month on Papercrafting Divas...Under the Sea. I had so many ideas running through my mind that I decided to sign up for both groups. Here is what I came up with...

This is my literal interpretation of the theme....the background paper is Heidi Grace flocked pearlescent paper, with Jolee stickers for the sea creatures. I used just tan paper for the sand, but covered it with Burlap Distressed Stickles. I think they are pretty cute.

This is my second set of cards....a little more out of the box. This is not my original plan...I had to change it up to get the look I wanted. Originally I wanted to do another literal card with a ship wreck and treasure under the sea. Well....I just could not get it to look the way I wanted, so...I found this clip art of the pirate ship in a storm and decided to use it. So, the ship is the literal, while the treasure is what you could find under the sea. I used a beautiful mirrored card stock that I embossed in the Cuttlebug for the background, pop dotted the image of the pirate ship. I cut the treasure cheasts from "Life's a Party" Cricut cartridge...distressed them and then added jewels, sea glass, shaped buttons, mini pearls, and gold stickles for the 'treasure". The sand is again tan card stock, but this time I ran it through the Xyron and then spinkled it with a very fine craft sand. Wasn't too sure about this one....but it is growing on me.

I am so enjoying this ATC's....I can really push myself to go outside of the box. Already planning & sketching next month's...Fright Night!

My FIRST Cricut Cut swap

I just hosted my first Cricut Cut swap on my facebook group....what fun. The theme was simple this time, use your favorite cartridge. It is always fun to see what others do with things....and this was no exception. Here they are...

I already have ideas for what to do with them...

the owl is going on a Valentine's page with the title 'love Notes"

the wheelbarrow is getting some glitter and going on a spring card

the sleigh & reindeer will be used for a Christmas layout

Daisy Duck....she is just so cute...I can't decide on a card or layout..

I have not come up with an idea for the paisley, but I will...I love it...and it has glitter!
